Clay Pigeon Shooting
Laser clay pigeon shooting?!? What’s that? At Hollybrooke Adventure Farm we do the real thing! Real clay pigeons and real buckshot.
Boom!
What is clay pigeon shooting? Well, the sport has been adapted by gun enthusiasts to mimic the shooting of birds with buckshot (buckshot is small pellets within the shotgun shell). Using your shotgun, you must attempt to shoot clay disks that have been shot out of a trap (a machine that throws the clay disks).
Yes, it wasn’t too long ago that one would have shot real birds (ducks, geese, turkeys, pheasants, fowl and cocks). In fact, shooting real birds is still a sport to some today. We prefer blasting clay disks out of the sky, though.
With a dedicated shotgun license holder (our owner Steve Ritchie), you too can experience the thrill of clay pigeon shooting. Each round of shooting includes a quick lesson on clay pigeon shooting, and a reviser regarding gun safety.
