Hiking

Make sure that your family and friends are treated to a walk alongside one of the country’s most beautiful little rivers… the Magalies.

“After a day’s walk, everything has twice its usual value.”

G.M. Trevelyan

Lace Up!

Did you know that the Magaliesberg is one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world? Taking a hike beneath its majesty is one of the most humble ways you could spend a day. Our Hollybrooke 4-km trail follows a winding Magalies river before crossing our farm’s fields under the mountain’s gaze.

The Hollybrooke trails also connect to the famous Van Gaalen trails. The Van Gaalen Cheese Farm Trails, made with the assistance of Hollybrooke Adventure Farm, lace across the valley, and visitors to Hollybrooke can make use of the longer trail to Van Gaalen’s (6kms one-way, 12kms circular).

Those hikers/trail runners with more gumption and fitness can follow the Vulture Trail to the Greek Orthodox Church at the foot of the Magalies range, while a further 3kms incline trail will allow you to summit at De Wet’s Pass. From the top of the Magaliesberg you can travel many kilometers in either direction. Speak to one of our guides should you need more information regarding our trails.
